On October 14, 2017 on a beautiful Fall Saturday morning and into the afternoon close to 100 golfers from around the Pittsburgh area gathered at the Blackhawk Golf Course in Beaver Falls to raise funds for the Kyle B. Wilson Scholarship Fund. The 2nd Annual event organized by the fun-loving Archie Brinza and his crew raised $12,500 to benefit underserved youth at the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart in Moon Township.

The golf outing is held in honor of Kyle B. Wilson, the son of Derrick Wilson owner of The Wilson Group. Kyle, the starting running back at Central Catholic High School passed away at age 17 in October of 2008. In memory of his friend, Central Catholic High School quarterback at the time, David Smyers and his family participated in the fundraiser. With the purpose to keep Kyle’s legacy alive while assisting students and their families who find themselves in extra-ordinary financial circumstances and to honor his memory, Kyle’s family established the Kyle B. Wilson Scholarship Fund, a non-profit, 501 (c) (3) organization. The scholarship’s funds are intended to help students and their families pay for the many expenses related to a quality education.
